Accessibility

Last updated 6 August 2026

We want everyone to be able to use this site. If something here is hard to use, tell us and we will fix it. That is a real offer, not a formality.

What we have done

This site was built to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as closely as we are able. In practice that means:

  • Every image has a written description for screen readers
  • Headings run in a logical order so the page can be navigated by structure
  • Text and background colors were chosen to hold up at normal contrast levels
  • Everything can be reached with a keyboard, without needing a mouse
  • The page reflows for phones and tablets and does not require sideways scrolling
  • Text can be enlarged in your browser without the layout breaking
  • No flashing or auto-playing content anywhere on the site
  • Links say where they go rather than saying "click here"

Where we know we fall short

We would rather be honest than claim perfection. This site has not been audited by an outside accessibility specialist, and it has not been tested with every screen reader and browser combination. Some of our food photography carries meaning that a short description cannot fully capture.

Tell us if something does not work

If any part of this site is difficult to use, or you need information from it in a different format, email Oak.and.ash.ct@gmail.com or call 860-759-0208. Please tell us the page and what happened, and we will get back to you and put it right.

We are a two-person business, so we will not always be quick, but we will always answer.

At the faire

If you have access needs at our booth, whether that is help carrying an order, a question about ingredients, or anything else, just ask us in person. We are glad to help.
